About Me
My name is Jade Ramos, I am a 52-year-old mother of 3, and grandmother of 3. I am originally from El Salvador. I came to the US at the age of 10, fleeing the Country’s civil war. I became a teen mother at the age of 17. Because I found myself pregnant at 17 I had no choice but to leave school and go to work to provide for myself and my daughter. I raised my daughter by on my own and I eventually got married and had a daughter and a son with my husband.
Fortunately for me God put me on a path at an early age and I was able to get my first job at 18 in the Real Estate Industry where I was able to make a good living and create a career for myself despite my lack of a formal education. at the age of 34, I had a nervous breakdown and I was diagnosed with PTSD stemming from the experiences from the civil war that I had lived thru as a child. Some of them symptoms from the PTSD included, clinical depression, anxiety disorder and at one point I was suicidal. At my lowest moment, I discovered meditation and thus began my healing path which I have really dug deep into and have been able to connect with my spirituality I now have a daily practice that allows me to live a beautiful healthy life. I have a very big box of tools that I constantly refer to and I am now also able to help others.
I am very proud of the individuals that I have raised, my three children are now adults, my oldest daughter graduated from ASU, my middle daughter gr aduated from UCR and is currently in her 2nd year at USC school of Pharmacy. My youngest son is in his third year at CSUN. I made it my mission to give my children the education that I was not able to have and that is one of my biggest accomplishments in life.
I am the Public Relations Manager at Investment Bankers Network(INBANET) I am the Vice-President of a non-profit organization, BABC Scholarship foundation. We grant scholarships to Senior High Schools young ladies that are on track to attend a 4-year college. As my mission was to give my children the education, it is now my mission to help the next generation coming up. We are not in our 3rd year and have granted 10 scholarships.
I am the current Secretary of NARHEP LA chapter (the national association of real estate professionals), we are advocates of Latino homeownership, and the work we do here is very dear to my heart as I love helping my community especially the Spanish speaking community.
I recently completed the Dr. Yasmin Davidds Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Foundation which is ran in partnership with USCMarshall School of Business. This program has prepared me for my future in growing to be a leader in my community.
As an immigrant, I always tell people "SI SE PUEDE" and it really is as long as we use our life experiences as something that happened for us and not to us. As every experience in life is preparing us for what is next to come.
Peace and Blessings
Jade Ramos
